KARACHI: Police
have arrested a man, wanted for various cases of robbery
in the city, in a raid in Baloch Colony on Sunday night.
Police Special Investigation Unit Senior Superintendent Farooq Awan said the resulted
in the capture of Rehman alias Pappan, who is accused of being involved in various robbery incidences.
A 32-bore pistol was confiscated from his possession.
An FIR was registered at the Baloch Colony police station, stating Pappan’s involvement in a robbery
in the area.
Baloch Colony is a frequent hunting ground for police raids to nab proclaimed offenders and robbers as the area is dotted with illegally constru
cted houses and congested streets.
It runs parallel to one of the main routes of the city, giving robbers and criminals ways to flee and hide after carrying out illegal activities.
