enerals have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant g
eneral, Inter-Services Pu
blic Relations (ISPR), th
e media wing
of Pakistan Army, said in a press release on Friday.
Those promoted are Major G
eneral Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Major G
eneral Nauman Mahmood, Major G
eneral Azhar Abbas and Major G
eneral Faiz Hameed.
Lieutenant G
eneral Sahir Shamshad Mirza is appointed the vice chief of g
eneral staff. He has previously served as DG military operations.
Lieutenant G
eneral Nauman Mahmood is curr
ently working as the director g
eneral analysis of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Lieutenant G
eneral Azhar Abbas is serving as the commandant of School of Infantry and Tactics, Quetta. Lieutenant G
eneral Faiz Hameed is serving as DG counter intelligence with the ISI. Earlier this month, 40 brigadiers
of Pakistan Army were promoted to the rank of major g
eneral. Those promoted to the rank of major g
eneral also included 11 brigadiers from the Pakistan Army Medical Corps.
